We Fight the Silent Struggle
Against Suicide
At Hope Against Suicide our goal is to meet people who are struggling with their mental health wherever they are. Our face-to-face mental health and suicide first aid services offer immediate, compassionate support, whether someone is in crisis or heading towards one.
Our suicide prevention services
Response Team
Our trained Mental Health Responders patrol the streets of Bristol, engaging with people who are struggling with poor mental health or suicidal thoughts. They also support other local organisations, providing emotional triage in crisis situations.
Listening Hubs
Our Listening Hubs in Broadmead and Cabot Circus offer a warm, welcoming space where people can talk openly and be heard without judgement. Staffed by trained volunteers, they offer both walk-in and bookable appointments.
Signposting & Advocacy
If someone comes to us needing longer term support, we can offer guidance as to how to find what they need. This includes providing referrals and advocacy if they are feeling overwhelmed, so no one has to face the process on their own.
Aftercare Team
Our Aftercare Team checks in with anyone we’ve engaged with, offering further support, signposting and advocacy to them and their families. They also look after our volunteers, ensuring they recharge after emotionally challenging work.
We are dedicated to suicide prevention
