Laurence has been Treasurer and Trustee at HAS since November 2024. He has a degree in Economics and brings with him knowledge of finance and governance through his experience at the Financial Conduct Authority and the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.

Laurence was previously Treasurer and Trustee at The Moldova Project from 2015 to 2021, where he transformed the finance strategy and established robust financial controls.

Laurence has led the Department for Education’s approach to student mental health from 2023 to 2025. It was Laurence’s exposure to the tragic stories of students who lost their lives while at university that led him to joining the HAS cause. Having been touched by these stories and having played a role in delivering national initiatives, Laurence wanted to more directly help those in need in Bristol.
In his spare time Laurence loves to go to music festivals and watch indie films. He is along a longtime suffering supporter of Southampton Football Club.
